Favorite Christmas Song: “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey

This song gets me in the holiday spirit at all times of the year. When I am at a party and the DJ is taking requests, I always request it. At first everyone rolls their eyes, but then as soon as the bells of the song starts playing, everyone starts bopping.

This movie is cute, mischievous, and hilarious all in one. It always get me in the Christmas spirit and leaves me feeling like I could totally defend my house from robbers in creative ways.

Favorite Christmas Song: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé

This is the first song on my Christmas playlist, and it automatically gets me in the Christmas mood. The smooth tone and picturesque lyrics fill me with joy and makes me giddy whenever it comes on. But it HAS to be the Michael Bublé version.

Favorite Christmas Movie: Elf

I love Will Ferrel and he plays his part perfectly. His genuine love for Christmas always makes me so excited for the holiday. The movie also has some of the funniest quotes that will never get old. And come on, who doesn’t want to try Buddy’s version of spaghetti?

Favorite Christmas Song: “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber

First of all, it’s by Justin Bieber so that’s enough of a reason for it to be amazing. Also, it is super upbeat and cute.

Name: Mary Clark

Year: Freshman

Favorite Christmas Song: “Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney is one of my many favorite Christmas songs, because it’s a great song to sing along to, but it’s not similar to all the other famous Christmas songs.

Name: Sydney Richardson

Year: Sophomore

Position: Writer & Social Media

Favorite Christmas Song: “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson because this song instantly puts me in a great mood. How can you not sing and dance along? I actually had the opportunity to attend one of her holiday concerts in Nashville and it was a very cool experience. Her voice is amazing. She can sing anything.

Name: Kay Connelly

Year: “Frosh-more”

Position: Writer

Favorite Christmas Movie: Elf. Duh! Omigod! It makes me smile and “Smiling’s my favorite!” :)

Name: Carrie Shaheen

Year: Junior

Position: Writer

Favorite Christmas Movie: A tie between Elf and All I Want For Christmas. I love Elf because it is hilarious, and no matter how many times I watch it I can’t stop laughing. It’s definitely one of the most quotable Christmas movies. Every year I always make sure I watch All I Want For Christmas. It was probably the first Christmas movie that I can remember watching as a kid and it’s one of those feel-good Christmas movies. Every time I watch it I’m taken back to my childhood, even though it’s a super cheesy movie.

Name: Sarah Reitz

Year: Freshman

Position: Writer

Favorite Christmas Song: “Jingle Bell Rock” is my favorite Christmas song. Everytime I hear this song it reminds me of that scene from Mean Girls where they dance to “Jingle Bell Rock”. Which then makes me want to dance too.  It’s just a super fun bop and it always puts me in a festive mood.

Name: Mallory Hackett

Year: Sophomore

Position: Writer

Favorite Christmas Movie: “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (or really any of those old stop motion animated movies like it). It reminds me of when I was younger because my family would watch this movie together every year. You just gotta love the nostalgia!

Name: Jenna Mason

Year: Junior

Position: Social Media

Favorite Christmas Movie: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (live action) is straight up the best Christmas movie ever. I quote The Grinch on a daily basis.  I relate to the Grinch on a personal level, not because I hate Christmas (I love Christmas more than anything!). It has great acting and great music (a la “Where Are You Christmas” by Faith Hill).

Name: Anna Rentschler

Year: Senior

Position: Social Media

Favorite Christmas Movie: “Home Alone” because I love those good 90s vibes. It has the perfect mix of funny, festive, and sentimental and I feel like that really captures the emotions of Christmas. Plus, that big gorgeous house is such a stunner.

Name: Hannah Banas

Favorite Christmas Movie: “Four Christmases” because it makes me laugh everytime. There are so many funny moments, and there is a genuine story behind it too. It always puts me in the holiday spirit and makes me realize that maybe my family isn’t as crazy as I think they are.
