Pictures are always taken at family gatherings during the holidays. Mom is always sure to take a million pictures of me in front of the tree. I rarely am happy with how those pictures turn out, so I’ve come up with some great ideas to look cute and fashionable during the holidays. When we’re spending mass amounts of time with our families, we want to represent ourselves as the educated and beautiful young women we are becoming. These tips can also be used if you are visitng a significant other’s family over the holidays too!
Outfit #1: Neutral sweater dress, bright tights, and your favorite UGG boots. I don’t think UGGs and a sweater dress will ever go out of style, and since it’s going to be cold out, pair them with a comfy pair of tights. Believe it or not, tights are making a fashion comeback. The typical sweater dress always looks cute and you’re guaranteed to stay warm.
Outfit #2: Blazer (blue or black) with a cute top, black jeans, and pumps (or your favorite riding boots if there’s snow on the ground). My black blazer is always my go to article of clothing when I want to look dressed up without actually dressing up. You can wear it with a plain v-neck t-shirt and necklace or throw a frilly blouse on if you want to make your look extra special.
Outfit #3: Long sweater layered with a long tank top, leggings, and your riding boots. This is probably my favorite outfit. I wear this all the time because it’s always comfortable and timeless. Boots are always what everyone wants to wear during the holidays, so go for it.
Outfit #4: Cute winter dress and flats. Wearing flats will make you look dressed up without having to wear pumps, plus it’ll protect you from falling over in the snow if you’re lucky enough to get some at home! If you’re afraid that your legs are going to be cold, look for a cute pair of sweater tights to go with the dress. I’ve seen them on almost every shelf at the mall lately and think they look so warm and comfy.
Extreme weather tip: If the weather outside is truly frightful… don’t be afraid to wear your boots with you when you’re outside and switch to rocking those pumps once you’re in front of the Christmas tree. Just because our summer tan is officially gone, we still need plenty of photo opportunities to get the best winter break profile picture!
