Have you ever woken up fifteen minutes before a class? Or maybe you stayed up until 5 a.m. finishing that paper or studying for an exam, and almost missed the exam? Or if you’re like me and hit the snooze button one too many times? Trust me, I’ve perfected a fool-proof method to look like you took hours to get ready, in just 5 minutes…

1.     First, brush your teeth. Even if you’re short on time, you never want to leave without freshening your breath. If you wear contacts, skip the time to put them in and wear your glasses (no matter how funny you think you look wearing them).

2.     Quickly find an outfit that looks classy and put-together. Here’s the trick: do not take the time to go through your entire closet. Anything from a pair of skinny jeans to leggings will work. If you want to wear leggings, throw on a comfy tunic or dress and pair it with your favorite boots or flats. If you’re more in to wearing jeans, a v-neck, and drape sweater is a perfect simple and classic fall look. Add a scarf for some flair.

3.     Makeup is the one thing that can either make or break your time management. If you don’t wear make-up, you’re golden. However, if you normally spend most of your morning with your make-up bag, it’s time to cutback. Concealer, tinted moisturizer, like Laura Mercier’s with SPF 20, and a swipe of mascara are all you need to go from looking like you just rolled out of bed to looking refreshed and rested.

4.     Hair is the final touch to completing your 5-minute makeover. Use a finishing crème to smooth fly-aways (I use Garnier Fructis Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk) and pull your hair into a neat, low bun. It looks professional and put-together without the time commitment.

5.     Finally, you can’t walk out the door without eating breakfast, the most important meal of the day. So grab a cereal bar or a piece of fruit and you’re on your way!
