Hosting a Halloween party can be extremely stressful. You have to worry about what creative snacks you’re making, what decorations are you hanging up, what costume are you going to wear, and most importantly what music are you going to play? You can always go with a classic like Spooky Scary Skeletons by Andrew Gold, or some more inspired music like Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads. However I have the perfect soundtrack for all of the witches out there. From 70’s classics to current hits here is my Witchy Playlist.Â
- Rhiannon – Live 1977 / Fleetwood Mac
This Fleetwood Mac classic is about a witch based on Welsh folklore. As Stevie Nicks sings the extended version of the song she is possessed by the spirit of Rhiannon. You feel bewitched by the bass and Nick’s melodic voice. This version of the song is perfect for your halloween party if you want some soft background music that won’t take away the focus from the party.Â
- I Put A Spell on You – Bette Midler
From a beloved Disney Movie, this song truly makes every theater kid sing. From Hocus Pocus this song truly puts a spell on you. Its high energy can truly turn a party up and to hear lead Sanderson Sister Winnifred sing it makes it even better. It’s the perfect way to start the witchy karaoke.Â
- Dark Lady – CherÂ
This Cher song might have sent fan favorite drag queen Mirage home, but it’s the perfect vibe for any party. This song about love, lust, and loss can make any party fun. Within the Chorus everyone has to clap which gets the group together perfectly, plus the protagonist in the end turns into the witch that she killed. That makes this some good music for your party.
- Dreams – The CranberriesÂ
The perfect 90’s rock witchy song. The high tilt of the voice and the heavy strums of the chords make this song perfect for a good upbeat tune. It also makes for the perfect back track for a stereotypical party so points there!
- Disease – Lady Gaga
If you are looking for a more current pop hit this song is perfect. This song will get all of the witches on the dance floor and start partying! Truly ending a perfect witchy night and party for all guests involved!Â
