As many people all across the country are at 8 pm on Tuesday nights, I am rushing to find the nearest TV or device to stream the new live Dancing With The Stars episode! Even though I normally only get to watch the day after, I am utterly obsessed with this season and its stars!
I personally never grew up watching the show like my roommate, who is a die-hard fan, but since its addition to Disney+, I have been locked in every fall. Now, let’s get into my thoughts on our judges and our remaining couples!
Elaine and Alan
As someone who was an avid Parent Trap fan, seeing our former Meredith Blake on my screen was a pleasant surprise. Although she sort of fell off the grid for me, I was quickly impressed with her acting and dance ability from the very beginning of the season. I was interested to see how she and Alan would pair together, but I couldn’t be more pleasantly surprised with their dances every week. Not to mention Alan has been one of my favorite pros since his pairing with Ilona last season. She shows up every week, and I am so excited for her to be in the finale next week!
Dylan and DaniellaÂ
Ok, so… I have mixed opinions on this man, as many on the internet do. And let me be honest, I had never heard of his existence before I saw his official post that he would be on this season. For me, I have been missing that emotional aspect of almost all the dances he’s done this season, which is a huge aspect of being able to go over the top, not only for the judges but the audience as well. He truly got lucky with who I might consider one of the most talented female pros on the show; without her choreography and insane ability, I truly don’t believe he would’ve made it this far.Â
Jordan and Ezra
I was so happy when I saw she was on this season because seeing her do a floor routine is truly incredible. I know they love it when athletes join the show because they already have that athletic ability, which we have all seen with Jordan this season. She has truly brought her own flair to every dance in a way none of the other stars this season have. I find myself watching her in every dance instead of her pro Ezra because of her style and the way she complements Ezra’s style perfectly. As someone who watched Ezra’s unfortunate luck in his first season, it was so emotional to see him make it to the finale in his 2nd season. I truly feel like he got a redemption this season with Jordan, and I am ready for them to eat up the dance floor for the last time next week!Â
Alix and Val
Coming into this season, I had never watched Alix on social media before, partly because her persona threw me off. I was very intrigued to see what she would bring this season, and I can say I have never been more wrong about someone. She truly exceeded all of my expectations from the very beginning, and I can say I have rooted for her every week without fail. Every week, she does more and more that I never knew she could do, but she does it flawlessly. In terms of her pro Val, she got very lucky with their partnership this season. Val is not only a pro in terms of dance, but also in his partnerships with younger female stars. She eats for me every week, and her getting more emotional with us this week really made me feel something!
Robert and Whitney
Um, why am I obsessed with this man and this partnership? Again had never heard of this man before this season, but can’t believe how much I was living under a rock until then. Knowing his sister also did this show with Dererk as her partner (hello potential) and won was the icing on the cake for me. Seeing him and Whitney together looks right to by brain, they truly look like a pair. For me top 3 DANCE WISE were Alix, Robert, and Whitney. Immediately, I knew after the way he showed up in week one that he was going to be one of the top contenders this season, and he has not disappointed. His energy is next level, and I feel like it hasn’t been given from a star like that in a while.Â
Whitney and Mark
Didn’t know her then, and don’t want to know her now. I was not familiar with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives before this season, but from the internet, I got to know a lot of controversial opinions that fans have of her. Coming in, she gave me bad vibes, but I quickly noticed her strong dance skills and abilities. As much she she rubbed many fans the wrong way throughout the season, she showed herself as a top competitor and someone to be reckoned with, especially with her partner being Mark Ballas, one of the biggest household names in the world of dance. As good as her dances were every week, she wasn’t able to stay in the competition on that alone, and I truly think it was her time to go.Â
The Judges
When I started watching consistently, I quickly realized the controversies with the judges. I remember when Len was still one of the judges, and it felt as though the judging was more consistent throughout, including the critiques. My favorite judge, obviously, is Bruno; he is genuinely the best man alive. I love him down. This season has felt like one of the most inconsistent in terms of judging that I’ve seen yet. It’s started to bother many fans, such as myself, with the enjoyment of the show. If judging had gone differently this season, it would have changed how the show has gone.Â
