Roses are red…Violets are blue…Don’t be sad you don’t have a boo! As Valentine’s Day approaches there is no need to feel down or sad if you are single, here is a survival guide on how I navigate through all the flowers, chocolates, and romance.

Galantines/Malentines!

Just because you are single does not mean you can’t get in the Valentine’s Day mood with your favorite friends. Watch your favorite movie or show. Get out all your favorite snacks and candy. Get out your comfy pajamas and blankets and cuddle up with each other on the couch and enjoy your time together!

Spa Day

Nothing is better than treating yourself to a good old spa day! Take care of yourself and do all the skincare and beauty favorites to make yourself feel good! Looking good and smelling good just for yourself is all you need! Listen to some music and light up a candle because you have a date for an everything shower!!

Sweet Treat

Didn’t get your favorite chocolate or sweet treat… who cares! Head right to the store and get your favorite sweet treat! I always have some spare cookie dough in the fridge, I like to put some in the oven to bake and then keep some spare dough out in a bowl to snack on before the cookies are done (don’t worry this dough is safe to eat raw). Plus it will make your kitchen smell so delicious you’re not gonna want to go anywhere else but the couch!

Buy yourself flowers

As Miley Cyrus once said “I can buy myself flowers”…  and so can you! You don’t need a significant other to buy you flowers, buy some cute red roses for yourself and put them in your bedroom or living room to remind yourself that you can buy yourself flowers!!! While you’re at it, jam out to some Miley Cyrus to inspire you!

Be Kind to Yourself and Others

It is hard to realize sometimes but you are not alone! Lots of people are not in relationships but sometimes Valentine’s Day makes it seem like you are the only one. Brighten someone else’s day whether they are in a relationship or not it doesn’t matter. You can get them something super simple, whether it be a card, their favorite candy, a hug, or just hanging out with them! Little gestures can go a long way, think about how it would make you feel if someone else did something kind like that for you! Being kind to yourself as well, it’s not the end of the world to be alone on Valentine’s Day, it might actually be more fun being able to do whatever YOU want!

Being alone on Valentine’s Day really is not the end of the world, it might feel like it at the moment, but take a step back to think about all the people in your life who do love you but are not significant others… mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, dogs, cats, teachers, friends, neighbors… Just because you are single doesn’t mean you are alone, there are so many people in this world that love you! So don’t be down this Valentine’s Day because there is no reason to be sad when you have the perfect guide on how to survive! I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
