This halloweenend as all do, had its fair share of cat and cop costumes but there were a few trends that seemed to pop up quite a lot this year.

1. The Tourist

Not usually a big theme, the tourist costume seemed to take off this year. Guys and girls both rocked this clever look which is super simple and comfortable, SUPER easy to put together with things you already have but those who really went all out may have gone the extra mile to find a nice Hawaiian shirt to go with their fanny packs. … and you cant forget about the map which of course is a key prop to any good tourist costume.

2. Rosie the Riveter

Maybe inspired by Queen B’s “We Can Do it” Rosie pic earlier this year, this costume was all over Instagram this year. Cute and simple but easy to make your own and a great opportunity to throw on a classic red lip and strong winged liner to make the vintage look come together.

3. Camo Chic

Done a few different ways, army print was definitely in style this Halloween. From everything from dresses to jeans to t’s there’s so many ways to make this cute look. Not only can you throw on your camo bandana you’ve had since those high school spirit weeks but this one’s a great excuse to wear last falls biggest trend: combat boots.

4. Sugar Skull

Half and full skulls were everywhere this year. A symbol for celebrating Dia De los Muertos, the sugar skull could be seen in super girly styles by adding some gems and glitter but also the scarier less sparkly versions were super popular as well. As a makeup lover I was all about this look and plus… when was the last time since fourth grade you got to walk around with facepaint?!
