As the school year comes to an end, I find myself getting excited as I plan for all the fun summer moments ahead and a little break from school.
The first thing I’m really looking forward to is spending time with my family. Even though I live only 40 minutes away and see them often, I can’t wait for more quality time with my parents, brother, grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I’m especially excited for day trips, dinners, and simply being together.
Along with family time, I can’t wait to spend time with my hometown friends. During the school year, we usually only see each other over winter break, so this time together will feel extra special. We already have Cape trips planned, Red Sox games lined up, and plenty of movie nights ahead.
I’m also really excited to start working again. When I’m home, I substitute teach in my hometown, which is something I love to do. The kids are amazing and always make me laugh. Once the school year ends, I transition into working at a summer school as a paraprofessional, and I can’t wait to see the students and staff.
Finally, I’m most excited to spend time at my family’s beach house. I’m looking forward to relaxing in the sun, reading, and enjoying beautiful days by the water.
After a busy school year, I’m ready to slow down, reconnect, and make the most of every summer moment.
