Toby Bear

Toby enjoys being an official mascot for Mercer Univerity athletics (along with his female counterpart, Tot) … He says he can barely contain his enthusiasm for MU athletics … Ever since he was a cub, Toby dreamt of representing Mercer’s athletics teams and, although the competition was fierce, Toby clawed his way to the top and is now one of the most beloved mascots around … Toby’s favorite colors are Orange & Black … He enjoys long walks in the woods … His favorite actor is Yogi Bear … Toby’s favorite place is the University Center … His favorite movie is “Jungle Book” … The person he most admires is Smokey the Bear.

Toby has been around since 1924. His name was chosen by Mercer students through the award-winning Cluster, the school newspaper (www.mercercluster.com).

Kathleen Quinlan
Kathleen has red hair, blue eyes and a ridiculous amount of freckles. Her favorite actor is Jason Schwartzman and her true love is television. She also enjoys comic books, 'Doctor Who' and cupcakes. Currently, Kathleen is a senior at Mercer University and is earning her double major in Journalism and English. She hopes to move to New York and become a real life Liz Lemon. At Mercer, Kathleen is the News Editor of the campus paper, 'The Cluster.' Also, Kathleen is part of the equestrian team, Society for Collegiate Journalists and several honor societies.
