After a semester of busywork, sleepless nights, and never ending responsibilities, Christmas break is here. Can you imagine a month of doing nothing? What can you do with so much free time?

You can sleep. All the sleep you’ve been missing is now available. But what happens when you get tired of sleeping? (Hopefully after a week you will). You can catch up on all the Netflix and Hulu shows that you never had time for during the semester. Most of the fall shows have reached their winter finales, so Christmas Break is the best time for a watching binge.

Once you’re done with the binge sleeping and TV watching and want to get out of the house, there are more entertaining activities. Shopping is a great past time. With Christmas coming up, holiday shopping is a great way to get out of the house and enjoy the shopping frenzy J.

Ice skating, cookie baking, tree decorating, visiting family and all the wintery array of activities are great choices. There’s nothing else that will put you in the holiday mood more than making a ginger bread house.

All around Georgia, Christmas time is always full of events, no matter where you live. No matter where you are, there are Christmas light shows that are put on every year. Around Atlanta, there are events such as the lighting of the Christmas tree at Lenox Square, ride the traditional Pink Pig, or even attend a symphony concert or go see the Nutcracker! Also, if you plan to spend your new year at in state, going to see the Peach drop could be another fun experience.

Another productive activity would be buying your books for next semester. Even though after the finals you might not want to think or hear about school, getting your books in advance is a smart move. You can find better deals, and not rush your shipping, maybe even save some money.

Everyone knows that there are countless places you can look for books, but here are some of the most common places for good deals:

www.amazon.com

www.buy.com

www.chegg.com

Even though you may think you’re too old, and your time has passed, take a picture with Santa. Just because you no longer believe in him doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. You can start a tradition of having a picture with Santa every year, so decades later you can look back and trace all the holidays and good times that have passed.

One of the most important things you should do is spend time with your family. All year you’re going to be away at school, barely seeing them. Time’s going to pass by fast and before you know it you’ll have a job and your own place. Spending time with your parents and siblings while you still can is really important.

No matter what you decide to do, make the kind of memories that will last a lifetime doing things you enjoy the most. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone!
