This week, Mercer’s Habitat for Humanity Chapter hosted their first  Tie-Dye Extravaganza to initiate and welcome new and current members. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization tha helps build homes for those in need. Over the years, the Mercer chapter has been able to help build 30 houses, and make a difference in someone’s life. Tie-Dye is back in style as both She’s the First and Mercer Habitat for Humanity hosted this creative fundraiser to support their causes. Mercer Habitat President, Thomaesa Brundage, is excited about what changes this new found enthusiam will lend towards involvement on campus.

“I think it went really well. The fact that we were out on Porter Patch allowed for more students to come out enjoy themselves. Having that interactive involvement raised awareness on campus and urged students to want to get involved. I think that is the kind of involvement we need to continue on campus,” said Brundage.
