Why did you choose to come to MU? I actually was a registered student at Wesleyan College. When I visited Mercer for the first time, I instantly fell in love with the beauty of the campus and the caring nature of the faculty.
Who is your inspiration? That’s tough to answer due to the fact that I constantly find myself inspired by those excelling around me, but I would have to say that Maya Angelou inspires me. Whenever I’m searching for a little uplifting or encouragement, I read her work. I aspire to reach a place of wisdom akin to hers.
How do you define success? For me, success is the ability to stand back up, no matter how hard or far you fall. When you understand the power you have despite your circumstances, and fear becomes obsolete, that’s success.
Any tips for Mercerians? Everyone constantly speaks of the brevity of life, but I’m a firm believer in the idea that life is just long enough if you allow yourself to live everyday to the utmost. We are young, and as clichĂ© as it sounds, the real world is just around the corner. Now’s the time to live. So, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, but don’t hesitate to take responsibility for the consequences. Enjoy the college bubble, but never stop learning and growing. Its all about the balance.
What are your future goals? After graduating from Mercer, I plan to receive my Masters in Business Administration from SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Afterwards, I hope to return to the United States and attend either Yale or Stanford for Law School. After receiving my law degree, I hope to open my own Marketing firm which will hopefully become a Fortune 500 company.
