Her Campus Mercer: What is your major and minor?
Alesia: My major is early childhood and education, and my minor is Spanish.
HCM: What activities are you involved in on campus?
Alesia: I am involved S.T.O.P. I approached girls outside the cafe and I became interested in it high school. They told me about the heavy amounts of human trafficking that occur in my hometown of Macon. I could not believe that something like that was happening here.
HCM: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Alesia: I work at Chick-fil-A. I enjoy cooking and play the violin.
HCM: How has your transition from high school to college been?
Alesia: It has been eye-opening. I did not realize the effectiveness the I.B. program would have until now. Being a commuter, I find it harder to meet people, but you have to work at it as opposed to running into them in a dorm. It has been fun though.
HCM: What do you plan to do with your career in the future?
Alesia: With my major, I plan on teaching inner-city kids, because I know that there is a desperate need for good teachers who care about their students and are not there just to earn a paycheck.
