Niall Horan is perhaps best known by the general public for being the little blonde Irish lad from One Direction. When One Direction went on indefinite hiatus in 2016, Niall seemed to disappear from the public eye for a while. We later learned he had been backpacking through Asia on a well-deserved vacation from the famous life.
In September of 2016, Niall released his first solo single “This Town.” The song is a beautiful depiction of all the things he couldn’t say to a woman he loved. This was just a piece of an incredible set list from an amazing album called ”Flicker,” which was released in 2017. “Flicker” is a folky-pop type of album, with a variety of different styled songs.
In addition to being a phenomenal song writer, Niall Horan has an excellent stage presence as well. Years of being on tour with One Direction allowed him to practice his concert skills. But now he has an opportunity to put his own flair into his concerts rather than being a part of the band. Live performances of Niall’s album have been well received by fans and performers alike.
Now, three years later, Niall is finally releasing another solo album—and I can tell it is going to be phenomenal. “Heartbreak Weather” is due for release on March 13 of this year, and I’m so excited for his new music to come out. The three singles that have been released, “Nice to Meet Ya,” “Put a Little Love on Me,” and “No Judgement,” are all incredible songs. Based on that, the rest of the album must be amazing too. All of the songs that haven’t been released have me so curious to hear them, so I can learn the lyrics, the melodies and the general vibes for the entire album.
Along with the new album comes the “Nice to Meet Ya” tour. I’m fortunate enough to have tickets to one of his shows in May. I am beyond thrilled to see Niall in concert after all the amazing things I’ve heard about his shows. Also, Louis Capaldi is the opening act for the show and he is also phenomenal. “Someone You Loved” is such a sad and beautiful song, I’m really pumped to hear it live.
All in all, Niall Horan’s new album is something everyone should be excited for. I’ve already pre-ordered my copy on Itunes. The best part is that I have a long plane ride a few days after the album is released. You can guess what I’ll be doing during the flight! I encourage anyone who hasn’t already to go and listen to the three singles released already. I personally guarantee you’ll love them as much as me, and they will get you excited for the new album release. Niall Horan is an amazing artist, and he deserves recognition for his excellent music.
