Welcome to My Top 5, a blog series where I share my top choices for recipes, makeup products and things to do around Montreal.

Now that spring is finally here, it’s time to change up my beauty routine. In the spring months, I like to go for light hydration since my skin is still recovering from the winter dryness, and some bolder colors to reflect the changing of the seasons. These are my current top 5 beauty products for spring, I hope you check them out!

1. Tatcha The Water Cream

I received a sample of The Water Cream over the summer and used every last drop, which is when I decided I needed to invest in the full-size jar. Although this face cream has a very hefty price tag at C$82, it is like nothing I have ever tried before. It is the perfect lotion for spring and summer because it is super light but still provides the right amount of moisture. I find that when I put it on before bed, I will wake up with the smoothest skin ever, making the investment worth it. If you want to try a smaller size before splurging, you can buy a set containing mini sizes of the cream, and their new The Deep Cleanse gel, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite face washes.

2. Pixi Peel and Polish

This exfoliator is a new addition to my skincare routine, but it is already becoming a favorite. It is a kind of two-in-one peel and scrub that only takes 5 minutes to reveal smoother skin. I had never really tried an enzyme peel before, but this one is very gentle and has a wonderful smell. After leaving it on for 5 minutes, you can also massage the product into your skin as a physical exfoliator, which I usually do. It is a nice treatment that you can do morning or night for an added glow boost for the spring.

3. Benefit Hoola Lite Matte Bronzer

About a year or so ago, Benefit came out with a lighter version of their cult Hoola Bronzer, aptly named Hoola Lite. This bronzer is new to my collection and is perfect for those of you who are super pale like me. The idea of bronzing has always intimidated me because many bronzers are either too dark or too orange, but this one gives a healthy-looking glow and is hard to go overboard with. I find that it can be nice to enhance my face with a bronzing product come spring, and I am glad that I found one appropriate for my pale skin.

4. Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment in Dream

I am a huge fan of Fresh’s Sugar range, and this new product is no exception. This update to the Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment is a light pink tinted balm, with similar pigmentation to their regular tinted lip treatments. The Advanced Therapy Treatment aspect promises increased moisture for 24 hours, enhanced volume, and smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles on the lips. The light pink shade is perfect for daytime wear, and even though winter is over, I am not about to say no to a moisturizing lip product.

5. Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss

I am a huge believer in a glossy lip over a matte lip, so once I saw these new Clinique glosses promising a non-sticky finish with added hydration, I knew I needed to try them. I recently purchased the shade Pinot Pop, which is a nice mauve-berry shade with the tiniest hint of sparkle. The shade range is perfect for the warmer months, featuring lots of bright pinks and reds. They are also currently selling the glosses with Marimekko-designed packaging for a cute added bonus.
