This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at McGill chapter.

The 15th annual Festival Montréal en Lumière is back. As one of the world’s largest winter festivals, this unique event is a combination of many exquisite experiences. From February 20th to March 2nd, this all-encompassing event caters to a wide range of audiences. Foodies and arts enthusiasts will fall in love with this amazing event. To make things even more interesting, the end of the festival starts off Nuit Blanche, which features over 150 mostly-free artistic installations and activities in the downtown area.

Get ready, foodies: Montréal en Lumière has paired up with some of the best chefs and wine producers from around the world. Starting off is The Festival of Our Cheeses, which includes a wide selection of Quebec cheese, beer and wine. There doesn’t seem to be a better way to start off this delicious experience. With over 30 different foods and wine-inspired events to follow, the festival is sure to keep your mouths watering and taste buds begging for more.

Don’t fret arts enthusiasts, Montréal en Lumière has more events on offer than your creative minds could imagine. The schedule kicks off with concerts, dance performances, theatre, and even circus acts. Overflowing with culture and highlighting the importance of Montreal’s emerging artists and icons, 11 days of action-packed performances will keep you coming back for more.

As a university student, this event is something I am looking forward to. With its numerous events, free of charge, Montréal en Lumière is the perfect festival to learn more about the culture of Montreal and discover just how much this beautiful city has to offer. Being a foodie myself, I can hardly wait to attend events hosted by world-renowned chefs and performances capturing the raw talent of Montreal’s artists. Last year, I was lucky enough to be in Montreal during this beautiful festival, though it was much colder than this year and numerous layers of thermal underwear had to we worn. Despite the cold, I enjoyed the spectacular cheese tastings and sipped on a mug of rich hot chocolate while exploring Montreal’s Museum of Fine Arts one evening; it was truly a memorable experience. I look forward to attending this year’s events for an extremely interesting and unique mid-winter experience.

Ticket prices will suit anyone’s budget. Ranging from free to $200 luxury experience, Montréal en Lumière truly caters to all. Visit the website to find out more about the events on offer, including exact dates and ticket prices.
