It happens once every year, just as the leaves begin to change: the streets become covered in oversized scarves, women change from blonde to brunettes and men become unavailable on football Sunday. Are you among the many drinkers who are excited for the most colourful season on Instagram; where colour is in the air, but not in your wardrobe? Naturally, our taste buds are not exempt from the switch to fall. Luckily, there are quite a few fantastic autumn-flavoured drinks that you can mix up in minutes.
HANGOVER BREAKFAST
The morning after a Friday night can be a rough one, but the best cure for your hangover is fruit… right? Try a Caramel ~Apple~ Mimosa to sweeten up your Saturday morning.
Caramel Apple Mimosas – Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp. Caramel
- 2 tbsp. Cinnamon Sugar
- 1 c. Apple Cider
- 1 Bottle Champagne
- Apple Slices, for garnish
Directions:
- Grab two small bowls. In one small bowl, pour caramel and in the other pour cinnamon sugar. Dip the champagne glasses into the caramel to rim the glass then dip in the cinnamon sugar.
- Pour ¼ cup apple cider and 2 ounces caramel vodka into each flute and top with champagne.
- Use an apple slice to garnish and serve.
LOW-CARB LUNCH
Try an autumn inspired spin on the classic margarita, by adding cranberry juice into the mix.
Cranberry Margaritas – Serves 3
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ c. Cranberry Juice
- ¾ c. Fresh Lime Juice
- ¾ c/ Tequila
- ½ c. Orange-Flavoured Liqueur
- Ice Cubes
Directions:
- Place all the ingredients in a large pitcher; stir all ingredients together until blended.
- Serve with ice in sugar- or salt-rimmed glasses
- Garnished with fresh cranberries and lime slices.
DIET FRIENDLY DINNER
Round up the girls so you can all cheer to the new fall season with an Apple Cider Sangria.
Apple Cider Sangria – Serves 5–8
Ingredients:
- 1 Smith Apple, Sliced
- 1 Red Delicious Apple, sliced
- 1 Golden Delicious Apple, sliced
- 1 Lemon, sliced
- 1 Orange, sliced
- 2 c. Apple Cider
- 2 Bottles Ginger Beer
- 1 Bottle White Wine
Directions:
- Fill a large pitcher with the sliced fruits.
- Add apple cider, ginger beer, and white wine.
- Stir the mixture then pour into serving glasses.
DECADENT DESSERT
If you’re anything like me, the second the first leaf falls you just can’t get enough pumpkin, if so, Pumpkin Pie Shooters will be your favourite fall treat. You can taste fall in every shot!
Pumpkin Pie Shooters – Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp. Pumpkin Puree
- ¼ c. Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamer
- ½ tsp. Vanilla
- 2 oz. Whipped Cream Vodka
- Marshmallow Fluff (optional)
- Graham Cracker Crumbs (optional)
Directions:
- Dip the top of the shot glasses in marshmallow fluff until the rim is coated.
- Dip the coated rim in graham cracker crumbs.
- Add the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice creamer; vanilla and whipped cream vodka to a blender. Bend until smooth
- Pour the pumpkin pie shots into the shot glasses.

Apple Pie Vodka – Serves 2
Ingredients:
- ½ Green Apple, sliced
- ½ Red Apple, sliced
- ½ Lemon, sliced
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 c. Vodka
Directions:
- Put apple slices, lemon slices, and cinnamon sticks in a cup. Add the vodka, seal the cup and slightly shake. Refrigerate until infused, at least 24 hours.
- To Make A Shot à Dip a shot glass in water, dip rim in cinnamon sugar, and fill with apple pie vodka. Top with whipped cream and more cinnamon sugar.
