This week’s campus cutie is a self-taught hip-hop dancer who’s now a senior member of McGill’s Urban Groove Dance Project, involved in charity work – as VP Sponsorship of UNICEF McGill – and working as a researcher at the McGill neuroscience lab… How he finds time to do all that (with the style and general awesomeness exhibited below), whilst applying for medical school, is beyond us!
Name: Chris Lui
Nickname: Asian Sensation
Hometown: Markham, Ontario
Program & year of study: U3 Neuroscience
Favourite class taken at McGill: PSYC 215 Social Psychology
Skill completely outside of your field of study: Hip-hop dance (which he taught HIMSELF by watching YouTube videos!)
What you’re involved in outside of class-time: Urban Groove Dance Project, UNICEF McGill, McGill neuroscience lab research
Dream job: Part-time actor, part-time pop star
Country you would love to visit, & why: Westeros, to be the first Asian in Westeros
Last three songs played on your ipod: “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus, “Give it 2 me” by Robin Thicke, “Hold On, We’re Going Home” by Drake
Where would we find you on a typical Friday night?: Taking long walks on the beach, talking about my feelings, and writing poetry
If you want to see Chris’ mad dance “skillz” in action, be sure to check out Urban Groove’s Fall Showcase, taking place this term on November 16th!
