Major: Jazz performance

Hometown: Mississauga, Ontario

Single or taken? Taken

What is the best venue you’ve ever played at? That’s a good question. Sixth floor, Solin.

What is your dream venue to play at? The Coliseum in Rome. When in Rome!

What is your favourite memory with the band? After our very first recording in first year, that was a fun memory. It was like 3 AM and we just got out, the whole city was asleep, so we were wandering around together trying to get food, being hooligans. So that’s one of my favourite memories. There’s definitely not one to put a finger on, because there are a whole bunch.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done at a show? Play guitar and try and sing.

What is the most embarrassing song on your iPod? I have it here, let me see. It’s going to be a good one. I don’t know, I don’t even listen to half of these. I’m going to say “Starships” by Nicki Minaj.

What song title or song lyric best describes your life? “I’m afraid of the world.” It’s a Louis Stein composition called “Fear.”

Who are your favourite singers and/or bands? Definitely very big fan of KC Roberts & the Live Revolution. After that, other big influences that I would throw on are probably Brass Tracks and D’Angelo.

If you had to go a day without using any technology, how would you spend your day? Playing a lot of trombone.

What is the best meal you can cook? Beef bourguignon.

Who are your role models? My role models? I don’t know. I’m pretty down with my professors, to be entirely honest. There are a couple of them that are a) supportive and b) really informed and incredibly versatile at music. That’s definitely what I’m trying to do.

If you had to pick one person to be stranded on an island with, who would it be and why? Probably Rathy – that’s my trombone.

What is your favourite joke? I don’t know. Favourite joke is probably… I have no clue. Let’s just say Louis Stein’s Campus Cutie Interview.

Are you a collector of anything? If so, what do you collect? Yes, vintage instruments.

If you could be anyone and do anything, who would you be and what would you do? It’d be cool to be a sound technician or engineer. That’d definitely be the other option.

What do you miss most about being a kid? Oh, God. Everything.

What songs would you sing at Karaoke night? Probably “We’ve Only Just Begun” by the Carpenters.

Stay tuned for more Busty and the Bass campus cuties!
