One word. CAMO. It’s the autumn ’13 trend that I am absolutely obsessing over! It’s the print that combines casual and tomboy, and when paired with softer hues and textures, you can easily offset its grunge factor. Camo has been making quite an appearance lately, check out our celebrity fashionistas who are pulling off this trend!
Who was pulling off camo on campus today? None other than Melissa Infusino, first year political science student, and a Montreal native! Melissa was sitting and studying away when I ( politely interuppted) approached her. As I introduced myself and proceeded to tell her how her studded ankle boots were an instant eye-catcher, she was flattered and surprised. Nothing like a modest well dressed gal, am I right ladies?!
There’s also nothing I appreciate more than a girl who knows how to pull off wearing two trends simultaneously, while muting them with basics. Her color palette consisted of warmer tones that just screamed autumn. She paired her pocketed round-necked grey knit with light tailored jeans- their similar and light shades complimented each other, bringing out her beautiful tan skin tone. However, the showstopper was defenitely her military/camoflauge printed vest that she layered over her outfit. The light weight vest with leather shoulderpads serves as a statement piece- and can really toughen up any outfit. Let us not forget her unique choice of footwear that caught my eye: buckled ankle boots with studded embellishments! Two of my favorite things in one: studs and ankle boots.
So I guess camoflauge doesn’t really do that great of a job at hiding or concealing- in fact, today it did quite the opposite. It stood out – quite prominentely too- and caught my attention when worn by the lovely Melissa! So on that note, I hope to see many more of you rocking camo this autumn! And well dressed fashionistas be ready, wherever you are on campus, I’m going to find you and can’t wait to feature your chic outfits on Her Campus!
