Her Campus (HC): What is your relationship status?
Anansa Wargo (AW): It’s not complicated, it’s just very private. I keep that part of my life unknown (laughs).
HC: What’s your favorite thing to do?
AW: I like to play guitar. I’ve been playing for, what, five years now? I’m actually a performer. I played at the National, actually. I play little gigs and things like that. I was going to play in Charlottesville soon.
HC: Do you sing as well?
AW: I do.
HC: What is your favorite genre of music?
AW: Anything really. Whatever I’m in the mood for.
HC: What is your biggest turn on?
AW: (Laughs) Shit…biggest turn on? I don’t know. I would have to say…confidence. That’s the first thing I notice.
HC: What is your biggest turn off?
AW: Hair. A hairy person. I hate hair.
HC: Why?
AW: Okay, I know how it started. My ex, my first real boyfriend, he was a pretty hairy guy. Everywhere. Since then, I’ve just kind of been into swimmer bodies (laughs). Other than that, mean people; rudeness.
HC: Do you have a favorite first date?
AW: Yes, with the “current one.” They took me to this cabin, and it was freaking amazing. It was a really nice cabin and we spent the weekend there. It was – I don’t even know how to descrbe it – it was breathtaking. I really like nature stuff.
HC: What is your ideal date?
AW: Not paying for food! (Laughs).
HC: What is your dream vacation?
AW: I don’t know where this is, but lots of sand, lots of 60 degree weather, and lots of sun.
HC: If you could go on a date with any celebrity, who would it be, and why?
AW: Channing Tatum because he’s gorgeous.
HC: Do you have any weird talents?
AW: I don’t know if it’s a talent but I can shake my eyes back and forth. My brother, he started doing it when we were little. I got really jealous. I was like, “I want to do that too!” I don’t know if you can call it trying, but I tried, and it happened.
HC: Do you have any hobbies that people don’t know about?
AW: A lot of people don’t know that I’m an artist, actually. I like to draw and sketch.
HC: What has been your favorite experience at Mary Baldwin so far?
AW: (Laughs) I would have to say Apple Eve. A lot of friends, I’ll say that.
HC: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
AW: Well, I always like to give out a motivational message whenever I’m interviewed. People go through things that make them question why they committed to something. Why they’re there. What they’re doing. But everyone has a purpose and everything happens for a reason. You never know what life will bring you. It will bring sadness, despair, and heartache. But it will also bring so much happiness and fulfillment. As an orphan, I understand the importance of that. Life happens, but you only get one chance at it. So find out your passions and what it means for you to “live” and enjoy every single moment of it.
