Using LinkedIn Effectively

Do you find yourself to be completely confused by LinkedIn? Well with these short tips we will turn you into a business-minded social media user!

1.  Make Connections: Do you have colleagues who utilize LinkedIn? What about teachers? Connect with them, you never know where your next job opportunity will come from!

2. Update your activity: Have you recently started a new project? or started a new job? Update your status to update your followers and to make more impressions in your network.

3. Use a professional photo: Has your profile photo been cropped to eliminate someone else in the photo? Take a professional photo, a picture is worth one thousand words!

4. Utilize the groups function: Looking to mingle with fellow industry professionals? Join the groups that correspond with your interests as a means of meeting new people, looking for job opportunities or getting more information on an industry-related topics!

5. Link to additional information: Is there more information you are unable to include on your profile page? Add a link to your writing samples, resume or online portfolio!

With these few tips you will be working like a professional on LinkedIn in no time!
