Staycation Ideas in NEPA for Spring Break 2018

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marywood chapter.
  1. Go to a Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins Game – During the break the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins will be home to play Grand Rapids on March 10th and Hartford on March 17th.
  2. Attend Parade Day – No Scranton Spring Break Staycation would be complete without going to Parade Day.  The day is full of festivities at the local bars with live music, drinks, and dancing happening all day!
  3. Visit the Everhart Museum Exhibition: Making Faces by John Kascht – “MAKING FACES is a retrospective of drawings and paintings by caricature artist John Kascht, whose irreverent work turns the leisurely pastime of people-watching into a Xtreme sport. Over a 30 year career as an illustrator, Kascht has created work for album covers, theater posters, gallery collections, and most major publications.”
  4. Broadway in Scranton: “Kinky Boots” – No need to travel to NYC this spring break.  “Kinky Boots” is bringing all of the action and fame of Broadway to Scranton at the Scranton Cultural Center.
  5. Montage Mountain Fest – Savor the last bits of winter at Montage MountainFest.  There will be cheap lift tickets and rentals (if you wear a costume, you ski for free!), live entertainment, dinosaurs, and pond skimming!
