You don’t have to be a resident to know Ryan Kozich, better known as RA Ryan. From being an RA to a representative for SGA, Ryan does it all. Thankfully he was able to take some time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us!

Name: Ryan Kozich

Hometown: Forty Fort, PA

Major: Music Education

Graduation Year: 2016

Her Campus (HC): Where are you planning on pursuing your masters? And what will it be in?

Ryan Kozich (RK): Marywood is my number one option currently. I plan on pursing it in higher education and administration.

HC: Why did you chose to come to Marywood?

RK: Well I visited a couple times and came here for music fests and I was like “this seems like a really cool place to park for the next four years.”

HC: What are you involved in on campus?

RK: I am a resident assistant for housing and residence life, I’ve spent two years in Loughran Hall and this is my third year and I’m in the Woodlands. I am the creative and performing arts representative for the student government association, I go on service trips in campus ministry, and I’m involved in my music education club as the event coordinator. I was also the Orientation Chair for the Class of 2019.

HC: What has been your favorite moment at Marywood so far?

RK: My favorite moment would have to have been on stage for being an orientation chair, it was going out onstage and seeing it all come together.

HC: Which do you prefer, Naz or McGowan and what is your favorite thing to get there?

RK: I’m gonna go with Naz, and the pierogis are a pretty solid choice.

HC: The late night pierogis?

RK: No, no, no the sautéed butter and onion pierogis.

HC: Wait Naz has those, since when?

RK: Yeah they do, but it’s a here and there kind of thing.

*This is when we has a sudden realization that it may be worth going to Naz more often if it means a possible sautéed pierogi*

HC: What is your dream job?

RK: I think it would being a dean of students at a college or maybe being a service trip advisor and going out on service trips.

HC: So now where do you see yourself in five years?

RK: In five years I see myself with a Master’s degree working at a college, hopefully as a service trip advisor or working in a Housing and Residence Life poisiton.

HC: Now for the real deep question; if you could change one thing about the world what would it be?

RK: I would be people’s views on immigration and immigrants themselves. I think that people forget that we were immigrants at one point or our family members were, so I think people need to understand that they are just trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.

HC: Who is your biggest role model?

RK: Definitely my mom. She’s gone through a lot in her life. I’m a first generation of college education, and her and my father helped to put me through college. They do everything that they can for me and it’s something that I want to be in life.

HC: Okay back to the not so deep questions. What is your favorite movie, TV show and thing to binge watch on Netflix.

RK: Movie is “Miracle on Ice”, TV Show is hands down “The Walking Dead”, and I binge watched the whole series of “Breaking Bad” in one week. The whole thing so I guess that.

HC: Okay so are you more of a cat or dog person?

RK: Cats. Clearly.

*He never truly elaborated on why it was so clear that he loves cats, so next time you run into RA Ryan maybe you can tell because we couldn’t.*

HC: What is your favorite hobby?

RK: I like arranging music for different things, like pop songs into weird instrumentation.

HC: Do you have any sibling?

RK: I am an only child, so no.

HC: What is your favorite song to sing at karaoke?

RK: “Wanna Be”. You just have to go with “Wanna Be”.

HC: What is one fun fact about yourself?

RK: Um well I have a forty pound cat, named fudge. Don’t worry we got him that way, we didn’t make him like that.

*All Her Campus readers, please take into appreciation that Ryan’s forty pound cat lives in Forty Fort, PA.*

HC: And last but certainly not least, your most embarrassing moment at Marywood.

RK: Oh God… Oh the first day of classes ever, I raised my hand and asked to go to the bathroom. In front of people I had just met that day.
