Let’s face it: nearly all of us have a prom dress or two stashed in the back of our closets or collecting dust in the attic. You know that you will never wear that sequined mermaid gown ever again. Here are a few reasons why you should donate your dress to Cinderella’s Closet.

1. Cinderella’s Closet “Turns Dresses into Dreams.”

Cinderella’s Closet is an organization that collects donations of new and gently used formal dresses and accessories and provides those dresses for an inexpensive cost to high school girls in need. You better buy a wand because you’re about to be a real-life fairy godmother!

2. You’re not going get that dress altered.

No, you’re not going to cut all the tulle off your puffy, fluffy gown from junior year. And no, that zebra print cocktail dress will not make a cute tank top.

3. You can give a young girl the gift of confidence.

Don’t you remember how gorgeous you felt at your senior prom? You were hotter than a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and you know it. You were an absolute princess. That rush of confidence would not have been possible without that perfect dress so why not pass the tiara down and give that same feeling to another young lady?

4. You’ll feel good!

One of the greatest perks of giving to charity is the satisfying feeling you get when you know you’ve made a positive impact.

5. You can donate your dresses right here on campus!

That’s right, Marywood girls. You don’t have to travel far to donate! Donations are being accepted in room 202 of the Nazareth Student Center until this Thursday (April 23). You can drop it off right before you grab your morning coffee!

 6. The event is nearby!

You can check out Cinderella’s Closet’s “Unique Boutique” on Wednesday, April 29, at Genetti Manor Banquet and Conference Center in Dickson City from 4 to 8 p.m.

7.  It’s in every princess’s budget!

All donated items will be on sale for only $10 or less, including dresses, shoes and accessories! For more information, please email CCofNEPA@gmail.com or visit www.facebook.com/CCofNEPA.
