Trick or treat? Um, I’ll take the treat. Duh. Halloween is quickly approaching and the basic white girl that lives within us all is shrieking with excitement for fall flavors (*cough*, pumpkin, *cough*). I’ve searched the deepest depths of Pinterest and gathered up a list of the cutest, spookiest, and simplest treats to satisfy your sweet – and salty – tooth this All Hallows’ Eve. Bone Appetit! (See what I did there?)
1. Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats
These treats may not be pumpkin-flavored, but they look like a pumpkin and taste just as delicious!

Ingredients:
- 6 cups of Rice Krispie cereal
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 10 oz of Marhmallows (approximately 1Â bag)
- Red and yellow food coloringÂ
- 12 Tootsie Rolls
- 1 green Fruit Roll-Up (if you can’t find green, you can use the green/blue combo)
Directions:
- Melt your butter in a large sauce pan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until melted
- Remove from heat. Add approx 4 drops of red food coloring & 2 drop yellow food coloring. Add until you have a nice bright orange color.
- Mix in Rice Krispies.
- Form small balls into the shape of a pumpkin (Tip: Add Non-Stick Cooking Spray (Pam) or Crisco to your hands before forming your balls)
- Cut Tootsie Roll in Half and add a half into each pumpkin while still warm
- Cut small leaves from the green portion of your Fruit Roll-Up.Â
- Eat and enjoy!
2. Witch Brooms
Doesn’t get much easier than this one. Plus, it’s the perfect blend of sweet and salty!

Ingredient:
- Pretzel sticks
- REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures
Directions:
- Insert pretzel stick into REESE’S cup.
- That’s literally it. If you’re feeling crafty, you can tie little bows around them.
3. Pretzel Bones
Feels so wrong, tastes so good.
Recipe from A Worthy Read
Ingredients:
- 80 miniature marshmallows
- 40 pretzel sticks
- 16 oz white candy melting chips
Directions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Push a mini marshmallow on each end of a pretzel stick.
- Melt white candy by heating in microwave for 45 seconds, stirring and repeating until melted and smooth.
- Using a fork, dip in white chocolate to coat completely shaking off excess and placing on prepared sheet.
- Place in refrigerator for 10 minutes to set up.
- You can optionally use a sharp knife to trim off excess chocolate than ran off.
- Heat chocolate for another 30 seconds and stir.
- Dip each bone again (shaking off excess) and return to tray.
- Place in refrigerator for 10 minutes to set up.
- Eat and enjoy!
