There is nothing worse than being unprepared for the winter weather. Especially now: It’s after finals week, there was a mini-snowstorm over the weekend that turned into ice, and let’s face it – none of us at Marymount want to get dressed. Here are my winter essentials that get me through the coldest weeks.

Parka: I bought my Gap parka last year, and I couldn’t say enough good things about it. It gives me so much warmth and allows room for layering.

Cashmere sweater: There’s nothing worse than waking up in a freezing cold room because it makes it harder to get out of bed. My saving grace for these kinds of mornings are my cashmere sweaters. They’re so warm and so easy to style.

Tartan scarf: Extra warmth + fashionable = perfection. Need I say more?

Bean Boots: So funny story – I actually forgot my rain/snow boots at home during Thanksgiving break. #worstdecisionever But if I did have the bean boots, life would be much easier in this awful weather.

Starbucks: Mmmmm nothing warms my body up more than a hot chai latte. Venti please.
