With the beginning of March starting, I’m not thinking ahead to spring break like everyone else. I’m thinking completely towards summer! For this photoblog, I’ll be showcasing some pictures from my Galapagos trip from summer 2011 to give me motivation to survive midterms and think about future trips. The Galapagos is a unique series of islands where wildlife is incredibly preserved by the Ecuadorian government. Because of this, wildlife reins over the landscape and visitors are able to be in very close proximity to the animals. It was really cool to see sea lions up close, especially the baby one that’s smiling! We were on a cruise for the majority of our trip so we could see the sunset every night. The bird shown in the third picture is the blue footed booby, which is unique specifically to this South American region. The fourth picture shows a flock of birds over the ocean and the fifth picture demonstrates the diversity of the flora and fauna. The sixth picture contains three sunspots over a silhouette, the seventh of a baby sea lion and the eighth of me with one of my favorites that I wanted to stuff into my suitcase!
