Kollege Girls Try Out Kylie’s Lip Kits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Maryland chapter.

After Kylie Jenner’s infamous lip kits sold out for a 4th time, you’re probably wondering what all the rage is.  Should you try them? Would you even like them? Four UMD girls tried Kylie’s Lip Kits by Kylie Jenner, so you can decide for yourself if you want to get your hands on them in the next online fight.  If you do want to get your hands on Kylie’s Lip Kits, check out her Instagram accounts often!

The Kolors we tried out, from top to bottom, Candy K, Posie K, and Koko K.

Before She tried Kylie’s Lip Kit:  I was really excited to try it and I had heard a lot of good things about them.  I would like to try Mary Jo K if I could pick any of the colors.

First Impressions:  I like the formula, it goes on smooth and the colors are really pigmented.  The light color Koko K is not for me, it is way too light. I liked Posie K and Candy K better, but I was not that impressed with them, they were all too light for my taste.

After Dinner Check In: I took it right off; the colors did not compliment me so I didn’t want to wear it out.

Before She Tried Kylie’s Lip Kit: I have heard a lot of good things about this product, and I was really excited to try the colors because I heard they were good on many different skin tones.  They seem like a good price for a liner and liquid lipstick, but I wouldn’t try that hard to get one for myself.

First Impressions: I tried Koko K and right off the bat I think the color is a little light for me.  The liner and lipstick are really easy to apply which is nice; it also smells really good, kind of like cotton candy.  The lipstick does sit in the lines of your lips, so make sure you moisturize when you use it.

After Dinner Check In: The lipstick is still on after dinner, but has faded around the edges where the lip liner was.  It didn’t dry out and the color has grown on me as a daytime color.  If I could pick one to try, I would try the Mary Jo K.

Before She Tried Kylie’s Lip Kit: I was super excited to try the lip kits because I have heard so much about it.  I have wanted to try out all the colors.

First Impressions: I was surprised by how much I like the formula of the liner and the lipstick.  The lipstick smells really good too.  I would totally buy it for myself and I really like the Candy K color with my complexion, I think True Brown K would be really cool.

After Dinner Check In: The lipstick stayed on through dinner while I was eating and drinking it didn’t come off.  But it did make my lips feel dry after a little while.

Before She Tried Kylie’s Lip Kit:  I was so excited when the Kylie Lip Kits came out in November, I knew that I had to have one.  I refreshed the website for 20 minutes before they released so that I could make sure I would get it.  When the new Valentine’s Day colors came out I did the same thing!

First Impressions: The liners are really great and easy to use, but I have no idea how to sharpen them.  The lipsticks smell great and go on easily and are very pigmented.  The colors are not quite the same as they look in the bottle.  Koko K looks good on fair skin tones; I think the Posie K and Candy K are too dark for me to wear during the daytime, but I do like them as a statement lip color.

After Dinner Check In: The product stays really well through dinner and doesn’t flake or rub off.  The new colors (Koko K, Mary Jo K, and Posie K) supposedly have a different formula that is not as heavy and less drying.  I like the new formula; it is more lightweight and better than the old formula, in my opinion.
