I Used the Daily Dress Me App for a Week For All My Outfit Decisions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Maryland chapter.

Trying to match your outfit to the weather outside is the biggest game of chance known to womankind.  Anyone who has lived in the D.C. Metro area knows that the only thing more unpredictable than the weather is the traffic. But if you find yourself struggling to figure out what to wear when the weather is in between, fear no more, Daily Dress Me is here. And I tried it out for a week to see if it actually works.

Daily Dress Me picks outfits based on the weather in your location, with photos from Forever 21. Every time you visit, the refreshes so if you’re given an outfit you hate you can get a new choice.

For practicality, I’m wore my own spin of the outfits suggested.

Daily Dress Me Weather Report:

66/44

Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain. Highs in the mid 60s.

The outfit called for a button up, joggers and wedges.

I wore Ralph Lauren button up, black Forever21 leggings, Steve Madden booties

This was a solid choice! I never got too cold or too hot on my walk to class.  Although it could get a little warm in some buildings that were blasting the heat, being able to unbutton my shirt and wear it like a cardigan was amazing.

Daily Dress Me Weather Report:

72/43

Sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. Light and variable winds.

They suggested jeans and a T-shirt

What I wore: Target Blouse, Celebrity Pink Jeans, and Sperrys.

This was the harder outfit, as it called for dress clothes for almost every choice. I only have one class Tuesday and spend the rest of the day doing homework, so I didn’t want to wear anything too fancy. I felt super comfortable all day in this outfit! Not once did I wish I had a sweater or did I feel too hot by wearing jeans.

Daily Dress Me Weather Report:

74/51

Clear. Lows in the mid 40s. Light and variable winds.

The outfit they suggested was a T-shirt dress.

What I wore: Tobi dress, Calvin Klein flats

This was by far the nicest day of the week, and Daily Dress Me put me in the best outfit for the weather. I find that wearing dresses in the fall seems almost impossible without wearing tights or can seem out of season when you don’t. I always feel like I’m risking being cold when I go without tights. But that was not the case on this day. I felt perfectly in season but not underdressed for the weather.

Daily Dress Me Weather Report:

71/57

Cloudy. Areas of dense fog. Visibility one quarter mile or less at times. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds around 5 mph.

They suggested I wear a tank top with a long cardigan and jeans.

What I wore: Forever 21 tank top and cardigan, Free People Jeans, Material Girl boots.

Daily Dress Me did it again! This was perfect. The weather was very dreary and gross and under normal circumstances I would’ve opted to wear leggings and a sweater or a long sleeved shirt. Once I got outside and walking to class I was grateful that I had my sweater for warmth, and a nice tank top underneath in case I got a little warm.

Daily Dress Me Weather Report:

78/51

Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

The outfit they suggested was a T-shirt and cargo pants.

What I wore: Forever 21 T-shirt, Celebrity Pink Jeans, Madden Girl boots

I was kind of disappointed in the outfit for today! The weather was very nice but the outfit selections didn’t really give me an option to take advantage of that! I did still feel comfortable in this outfit, but I wish I had had the chance to wear something that was more weather appropriate.

Over all, Daily Dress Me did not fail me. I loved that it gave me a variety of options from formal to casual.  I think the fault with the site is that you can’t specify what type of outfit you want to wear on certain days of the week. For now, Daily Dress Me is the perfect guide for dressing and as it gains popularity, I have no doubt that it will add some of these key features!
