While this year’s spring trends are all about bright colors and 70s silhouettes, there’s one trend that’s still going strong: minimalism.  Clean lines, monochromatic colors, and simple details can help your personality take center stage rather than your flashy outfit.  It might seem hard to pull off such basic clothes, but with a few tips, you can learn that “less is more.”

Black and White

Black and white is a foolproof minimalist combination.  It never goes out of style and is a strong base to build on.  If you’re feeling drab, you can add a splash of color with bright sneakers or a colorful purse while still keeping your clothes simple.

Pastels

Pastels are another way you can enhance your minimalist outfit with color.  Soft hues like light blue, blush, or pale yellow stand out against black basics and give your outfit a spring vibe.

Leather

Leather pieces can help add interesting textures when you’re sticking to a monochromatic look.  A leather skirt or leather jacket are edgy pieces that are perform for when you’re going out.  Faux leather is a great alternative to the real stuff, too.

Fashion bloggers, like Natalie from Nalieli, Analisa from Rack and Rouge, and Rumi from Fashiontoast, have mastered the minimalist look and can help inspire your own outfits.  Simple doesn’t have to be boring!
