Calling all the single ladies out there!

As February rolls around, it seems as though the only thing that’s on a girl’s mind is Valentine’s Day. A lot of people dread February just because they may not be with any special someone to spend the “holiday of love” with. Instead of dreading the whole month, here are some fun things to look forward to in February that have absolutely nothing to do with Valentines Day. Why let one day ruin an entire month?

1. 2014 Winter Olympics: February 7-23Root on Team USA in Sochi, Russia as they compete in all kinds of winter events. Keep an eye out for stars including two-time reigning gold medalist Shaun White in the half pipe event and young Polina Edmunds, who at only 15 years old is competing with the US Ladies Figure Skating team. Team USA will battle against the best and you don’t want to miss it!

2. Endless Love: February 14

Grab your girls and head out to the movie theater for V-Day. You make not be in a relationship yourself, but on Valentines Day you can’t help but watch sparks fly between costars Alex Pettyfer (if you haven’t heard of him, look him up, so cute!) and Gabriella Wilde. This romantic drama, a remake of the original Endless Love made in 1981, tells the story of true love that fights against parents trying to separate them.

3. Presidents’ Day: February 17

This may not be the most exciting holiday ever, but there are always tons of sales at your favorite stores. Hit the mall and get ready for some killer bargains. Deals from American Eagle Outfitters include 25% off your purchase along with free shipping. Urban Outfitters offers savings up to 85% this weekend. Look forward to all of the deals you’ll get this weekend. Besides, who needs boys when you have shopping?!

4. DC Fashion Week: February 17-23

Come to various venues throughout Washington DC for a week of high fashion. Designers will showcase their work in this weeklong event. For those who are interested in working the fashion industry eventually, DC Fashion Week is hosting a networking party for anyone ages 18+ with free admission. For more information and schedules, visit DC Fashion Week’s website here.

5. National Margarita Day: February 22

Celebrate with your favorite drink with the salt around the rim! Make use of those little paper umbrellas too. This is definitely a day to look forward to instead of dreading Valentines Day and the rest of February all together. This is a day to enjoy and treat yourself. Does this need any further explanation to celebrate this new holiday? Cheers!
