It’s that time of year! Summer is right around the corner, and with the winter we’ve had, everyone couldn’t be more excited! What better way to kick-start your summer than with a simple DIY that will put you in the mood for summer? Here is a DIY for a hemp bracelet/anklet!

Supplies:

  • Hemp (color asst.)
  • Scissors
  • Duct Tape
  • Beads

Step 1:

Start by cutting three strands of the hemp about arms length each. Then line them up together, and tie a simple knot about 1 ½ inches down from the top.

Step 2:

Take the duct tape and rip off a piece and tape down the 1 ½ inches above the knot. Then, take little pieces of the Duct Tape and tape down around the edges (like pictured) Tape down the middle strand about 8 inches down from the knot.

Step 3:

Start by take the left hand string and lay it over the middle string (forming a “L” like shape).  Then take the right string and put it under the “L” shape, under the middle string, and take it up through the loop and pull.

Step 4:

There is now a loop. Take the right and left strings and pull until the loop has made its way to the knot.

Step 5:

Now, we are going to repeat steps 3 and 4 on the other side. Take the right string and lay it over the middle string (forming a “L” like shape). Then take the left string and put it under the “L” shape, under the middle string, and take it up through the loop and pull.

Step 6:

Repeat steps 3-5. Repeat until ready to put bead on. You can put your bead(s) wherever you desire.

Step 7:

When you are ready to put on a bead, take the tape off of the middle string, and slide on the bead. Once the bead is on, tape the middle string down right away.

Step 8:

Once the bead(s) are on, secure the bead(s) by repeating steps 3-5. Continue until desired length. When desired length is reached, finish the bracelet by tying a knot like in step 1 and leave about 1 ½ inches on the end.

You now have the perfect bracelet/anklet for wherever your summer leads you!
