Now that the weather is starting to warm up here in Wisconsin, it’s time to finally start packing up your winter clothes and heading to the mall to shop for that new spring wardrobe. But first, let me give you a few tips on the upcoming trends of 2016, so that you will know exactly what to look for in stores, and of course, make some killer purchases.
Lace is one of the most trendy, yet classic looks for this spring. It’s predicted to be more prominent than ever in the fashion industry this season, but will be worth your money because it is something that can still be considered a staple item in your closet. It’s classic, timeless, and although it’s trending right now, you will be able to wear it a few years down the road too. When I wear lace, I like to wear lace dresses. However, you can find it in many forms. Here are a few of my top picks:
The next addition to your wardrobe needs to be lace-up shoes! This trend is awesome because you can either dress it up or dress it down. More specifically, lace-up shoes come in either a flat or a heel, so you can either wear to work, out on the town or just casually. I recently purchased a pair of lace-up flats with the intention to wear them this spring, but have already worn them so much I’m considering buying another! I enjoy wearing them around campus or to work, and have recently even worn them to a few job interviews! You can wear the shoe with a dress, skirt, pants and shorts – really any type of outfit, and that is why I enjoy them so much I am not limited. Finally, your last trendy purchase should be fringe. By this I mean fringe skirts, fringe tops, fringe necklaces and even boots with fringe. Sometimes, you may even find a fringe-suede combo, and that’s even better! The 70’s are making a comeback, and I’m challenging you to embrace them! Here are some of my favorite fringe pieces:
