For the past couple years, women have been ruling the music charts and we couldn’t be happier. Strong female voices are constantly blasting through speakers everywhere from coffee shops to clubs. As much as we love T. Swift and Queen B, though, there are some other female musicians who are seriously underrated. Learn a little about them below, then head over to Spotify to experience the greatness.

1. Haley Reinhart

After placing third on the tenth season of American Idol, Haley Reinhart released an album called Listen Up! which features her strong and soulful voice. Reinhart’s talent is evident and has been often overlooked after she was eliminated from American Idol.

2. Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini’s single Love Me Like You Mean It played on the radio all summer, but she also has many more country songs on her album, The First Time, that have a fun summery feel.

3. Jess Glynne

Not only has Jess Glynne been featured in both Clean Bandit songs “Rather Be” and “Real Love”, she also released her own album last year, I Cry When I Laugh. Glynne’s music is uplifting and has a unique upbeat sound.

4. Emeli Sandé

Emeli Sandé’s radio single Next to Me was very popular a few years ago. Sandé’s soulful vocals have been featured on other artists’ albums and although she hasn’t released an album since 2012, Sandé’s talent is underrated.

5. Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen’s single Call Me Maybe was a big hit in 2012 but now may drive you crazy when you hear it due to it being overplayed. However, her 2015 album Emotion has some enjoyable and upbeat pop songs that many people have overlooked.
