Rihanna Launches “Fenty Beauty”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Rihanna is throwing some serious shade these days, and beauty enthusiasts are overjoyed about the star’s new beauty line, Fenty Beauty.

Fenty Beauty kicked off in-stores and online at Sephora on September 8th. Most notably, the line features 40 shades of foundation- a one-of-a-kind assortment ranging from the lightest complexions to the darkest (some of the foundations have already reached sold-out status.) But aside from the diverse array of foundation shades, the star also released other products like highlighter, blush, lip gloss, and brushes. In fact, the only lip product in Ri’s new line, Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, comes in one-shade. The pearly nude shade is hydrating and glossy- and looks fabulous on everyone.

With a universal appeal in mind, the best part about Rihanna’s new venture is Inclusivity. Everything about Ri-Ri’s line focuses on uniting beauty lovers of all ethnicities in unique ways- something rarely seen in the beauty industry.

“Fenty Beauty was created for everyone. For women of all shades, personalities, attitudes, cultures, and races. I wanted everyone to feel included, that’s the real reason I made this line” – Rihanna (taken from Sephora.com)

The future of beauty is dependent on the gorgeously diverse audience of all skin types and attitudes. Hopefully, Rihanna’s line will inspire other makeup artists and celebs to create products that look and do good.
