You may find that the book connects to you, or that you feel like the character in the book. It’s a powerful feeling, realizing that literacy has the ability to connect us all.
Besides that, books also really spark your imagination. No matter what your major is it is important to have an imagination as this can assist you in a variety of ways. Reading simply taps into that and really expands your horizons.
In addition to all of these reasons, reading makes you more empathetic. You are able to understand what others go through as you read the characters’ stories. This enables you to be a better friend to your friends and others in your life.
