The excitement of a new school year has finally started to wind down. You’re getting used to your classes, routine, friends, and social life. But sometimes comfortability can have its downsides. If you’re experiencing the mid semester slump, look no further than these helpful tips.

Step 1: Treat your skin

“Treat yo self” usually means unwinding with a spa day and some shopping. However, with mid semester deadlines piling up- it’s hard to find time for that. So, treat yourself on your own time with these amazing masks from Freeman Beauty. Designed with every skin tone/concern in mind, there’s actually a mask for everyone. Dry skin? Try the Rejuvenating Cucumber + Pink Sea Salt Mask. Oily? Try the Manuka Honey + Tea Tree Oil mask. Both? Multi-mask!

After you’ve prepped your skin to perfection, it’s the perfect canvas for an amazing glow. Fake the summer sun with L’Oreal Paris’ Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes, which develop color in 2-4 hours for a streak free, natural tan.

Step 2: Look good, feel good

Good hair days are synonymous with a good day. Whatever your hair texture or length, there’s a way to make sure a good hair day is every day. Bed Head by Tigi is a collection of products for every step of the hair process- from shampooing to styling. For busy girls, we cannot recommend the TIGI Oh Bee Hive! Dry Shampoo enough. Not only does it smell amazing, but it completely mattifies the hair. Pair a good hair look with new chokers and sunnies from Aeropostale so you look great and feel confident, too!

Step 3: Take a Break from Caffeine.

Coffee keeps many of us running- but sometimes it good to take a break. If you need some kind of carbonation/drink other than water, try Spindrift Sparkling Water. With real fruit flavors like strawberry, blackberry, and lemon, it makes water taste refreshing and delicious. If stress leaves you hungry, or if you want something to sweet without the guilt, try Hi-Chew Candy. Not only is this candy delicious, it’s gluten-free and made with real fruit. Score!

Step 4: Plan it out

Don’t let your organizational skills dwindle as the days get more and more complicated. Good organizational habits will keep you focused and stress free through the rest of the semester. If your planner doesn’t have enough space for your everyday tasks- get a larger one to accommodate. Hint Hint: Erin Condren Planners. These bad boys can be custom made to your style and needs.

Step 5: Plan a Weekend Getaway

Sometimes, we all need a break. Plan a weekend to get back to your roots at home, or plan a day trip somewhere fun in the Hudson Valley. Either way- don’t forget to take time for yourself doing something you love. Eliminate the stress of packing and keep your hygiene products safe with Steripod’s Toothbrush Protector. Never worry about how clean your toothbrush is ever again (which also means in your shower caddy on the way to the dorm bathroom!)
