Her Campus Marist Hosts Bake Sale to Support Let Girls Learn

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Last Wednesday, Sept. 23, Her Chapter Marist members hosted a bake support in support of the Let Girls Learn initiative.

The initiative, supported by First Lady Michelle Obama, works to provide secondary education to girls around the world. According the program’s website, “A key part of Let Girls Learn will be to encourage and support community-led solutions to reduce barriers that prevent adolescent girls from completing their education.” Let Girls Learn works with the Peace Corps to train volunteers and work with community leaders to advance the education of young girls.

Her Campus Marist raised $51 by selling homemade brownies, cookies and cupcakes in the Student Center Breezeway. Thank you to all those who helped bake, man the booth and especially to all of the generous donors. We are proud to have brought Let Girls Learn to Marist and we hope to continue to support the program.
