What, Where, and Why You Should Treat Yourself

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

If you’re hesitant to treat yourself to something sweet, it’s usually the price tag that is holding you back. It’s not always necessary but certainly rewarding, to be able to splurge on yourself after working hard in school or at work. If you need a little convincing, something that you tend to spend more money on, you will take care of to have a longer lifespan than the average item. Typically with a sense of self-appreciation! Don’t know what to indulge? Here are some ideas:

Victoria Secret Supersoft Modal Pajamas

I recently fell in love with these! These pajamas are luxurious to the touch and will make you want to buy more and more pairs. They were my most recent purchase with no regrets (3 pairs actually!).

Weighted Blanket

Weighted Blankets are definitely a splurge that could be more than a hundred dollars but can contribute positively towards your mental health. They are a great purchase for anyone who struggles with anxiety.

Lululemon Leggings

This is a typical “I just can’t justify the money” item. I promise once you treat yourself to a pair you cannot go back and every other pair of your leggings won’t live up to them. Besides, they make your butt look good!

Apple AirPods

AirPods have become so mainstream, but out of convenience, they’re a great purchase! If you’re someone who spends a lot of time listening to music, whether it is working out or in the library, you will get your money’s worth.

Invisalign

This is a personal purchase that can cause a real dent in your wallet, but you wear your smile every day for your lifetime. This is an investment in yourself that boost your self-confidence by far!

Facials

Whether it’s a “once in a blue moon” treat or a monthly pleasure, facials provide a sense of self-love and can especially boost your confidence if you struggle with acne.

An experience!

An experience can be anything from brunch in the city with friends to flying across the world, but both cost a pretty penny. Saving your money  and spending it to travel or spend time with others won’t ever be regretted and comes with a plentiful of memories.

Your definition of the “perfect jeans”

Spend a day to yourself shopping an entire super mall of stores until you find your perfectly-fitted jeans. Once you have your favorite pair of jeans you will feel great anywhere you go wearing them.
