We’re On The News!: Manhattan Party Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

First off, congratulations Jaspers. You have officially joined the ranks of the chosen college students that are rambunctious enough to annoy an entire neighborhood. That takes dedication.

Why is this even a bad thing? Well, first off, we are a Catholic school whose entire platform is “civility”. If you still don’t know what that means, you are either a freshman or have not done anything in your entire college career here.

Honestly, this is not even about the neighbors. The people this could work against the most is you, my fellow party-goers.

  • Remember the days of dry campus where alcohol was not allowed on campus at all? Me either, and I don’t want to. Neither do you.
  • Raise your hand if you are actually 21. There is no way that a population of about three thousand students (ranging from 17-22) has that many 25 year olds. If the bars are threatened with penalization, you might just get your big sister’s ID taken away or worse: cut in half.
  • If we as a student body cannot even handle ourselves on a Thursday night, do you expect Springfest to come back? Remember Alesso? You tell me why we don’t even call it Springfest anymore, and the whole thing has turned into another Quadstock.
  • We CERTAINLY do not need to litter or destroy the streets. Please don’t be dirty, and keep your garbage at home. I’m sure if you were paying the rent our neighbors pay and walked out to Keystone Light cans everywhere, you’d be pretty annoyed too.

This is not an anti-party agenda, Jaspers. It’s a “please keep the party where it belongs” agenda. Let’s be a little more civil and not ruin the fun we have here in our little enclave of Riverdale.

Just remember, WWLCD: “What would Lauren Conrad Do?”
