Ways to Wear Pastels for Easter Without Looking Like an Easter Egg

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

Easter is right around the corner and we are all over the winter weather and springing right into the season of spring. Department stores have been refreshed with new colorful styles for this season. Around the Easter holiday, women are able to take advantage of wearing their favorite pastels without looking like Easter eggs. Here are some pieces I have rounded up that will be the foundation to your Easter look.

Pair a tonal-yellow A-line statement print skirt with a pale pink sleeveless top. Find a top such as this with a fluorescent lip embroidered neck or find a fun popping necklace to add a pop of color. The high-waisted midi-length silhouette is timeless. Add a mint colored coat that taps into the season’s trend for pastel shades. This A-line, double-breasted style is universally flattering and takes inspiration from the sixties. Top off the outfit with a chic and sophisticated, lemon snake print mid heel shoe. This outfit is perfect from Easter brunch or Easter Sunday Mass!

You can never go wrong with a pair of jeans. They are comfortable and can be flattering on all body types. Try pairing a simple pair of skinny cut high waisted jeans with a white cotton asymmetric hem T-shirt. Wear a classy black loafer to make the outfit dressier. Finish the look with a pastel patterned wool coat. This look can be worn at any time of day whether you are doing last minute errands, spending the day in the city, or if you find yourself at an Easter egg hunt. Always remember to add your favorite accessories to make the outfit pop!

As the first weekend of April arrives, you begin to feel the springtime jitters. This weekend marks the moment you can finally dig out your flouncy dresses and light weight jackets. As the flowers begin to blossom, we tend to see more floral designs to go along with the season. A simple multi-color floral fit and flare dress with cap sleeves is a perfect way to show off your holiday spirit. If you are not the type of gal that likes bold prints, try a sophisticated and feminine pastel maxi dress. This dress is designed with a pleated silhouette that will flatter any figure, and accent curves. Pair either dress up with a simple pastel heel or a metallic sandal. These looks are perfect from Easter Services to Easter cocktails.

Accessorize to complete your Easter look. You can never go wrong with pearls, whether it be a necklace, bracelet, or earrings. They create a classic look and are a wonderful go-to for special occasions. To dress up a simple outfit up, go big or go home by adding a chunky colorful jeweled necklace. A statement necklace can pull a whole outfit together and make it fun. Complement your outfit with a pastel shoulder bag to carry your essentials. Make sure you wear a heel that is comfortable. These heels are both classic but with a contemporary slant. Wear yours to freshen up your Easter look and against pastel separates.

Happy Easter!
