As a foodie and someone who travels into Manhattan weekly, I love exploring and going to new restaurants. Since the pandemic, it’s been hard for restaurants to stay open while complying with CDC guidelines. For me, I love to try out a new restaurant every week with my friends and we show support to the small business struggling throughout this time. Here are some of my favorite dinner places in NYC!

Empanada Mama

Empanada Mama is located on 9th and 51st in Hell’s Kitchen. It has the best fresh empanadas, but my favorite has to be the plantain chips and homemade guacamole. It is very affordable for the area and is also open 24/7!

Sveta

If you’ve looked at your Instagram stories on a Friday or Saturday night then you have probably seen someone at Sveta. Sveta is located on Carmine St. in the West Village. I’ve been there a few times and I can conclude that it is totally worth the hype. My favorite thing to get is the chicken parm sliders! The best part is if you post your drink on your Instagram stories and tag them they will give you a free refill!

Paola’s Osteria

Located on Madison and 90th, this place is perfect for an early dinner and offers great Italian food. It is a block away from Central Park and its overall a great location. My favorite thing to get from here is the avocado toast!

Serafina

Another great Italian restaurant and this is a chain so it is located all throughout Manhattan. The pasta and desserts here are to die for and I highly recommend it if you want to go to a place that’s a little fancier.

Veselka

I have been going to Veselka since I was a child and it never disappoints. It’s a Ukrainian diner located on Second Ave and East 9th St. They have the best latkes in all of Manhattan (and Manhattan has really good latkes) It’s the perfect place to go to with your friends and get delicious comfort food!

SUGARFISH

This is also a chain around the city but it truly is one of the best places that you can get sushi in Manhattan. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of sushi but I love their California rolls. My friends love this place and it is totally worth checking out if you love sushi!

Remember that this is a hard time for businesses too, so it’s important to help out in any way that you can! HCXO
