Being organized is essential to a successful life. It gives your mind a sense of accomplishment knowing that everything is in its place. You can define organizing in a lot of ways, whether it would be your surroundings, your schedule or just minuscule things. Before I started college and living on my own, I wasn’t very organized. I was always pretty messy, which then reflected on my life and school work. I would forget to do assignments because I didn’t write them, so I didn’t remember them. I knew in college I had to change that, so I did and it has made my life so much easier.

In college, being organized is key. Most of the time you are living in a small space with another person and it is hard to fit your whole life into a tiny room. The biggest thing I can suggest when it comes to spatial organization is that the less you have, the better you will feel. I know that when I only bring what I need versus what I want, that I am living a much more stress-free life.

Sometimes it can be hard living away from home and not knowing what to bring, so you bring everything. Bringing only the stuff you use in your everyday life is key. Having your life and space overcrowded will eventually affect your mindset to be overcrowded. Having a clean space will equal a clean mindset.

When it comes to life organization I am extremely visual. I have two different calendars that I use daily. One is google calendar and that is for all of my classes. The other one is a dry erase calendar that I have hanging on my wall. On that, I keep all of my assignments, so that every day I see them and I don’t forget them. Visualization is key when organizing. When it comes to school getting a planner is so useful for not forgetting assignments.

I have created a list below of items (that you can get on Amazon) that will help your life feel more organized:
