A New Semester According to Disney Channel

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

For most children of the 90s and early 2000s, Disney Channel was a household television staple. We grew up with the familiar antics of the Stevens and Proud families playing in the background while we did homework. We were possibly in our first suuuppppeeeeerrrr serious middle school relationships as Troy and Gabriella were soaring and flying. We anxiously awaited the 13th year to see if we would sprout gills and a tail (no? Just me?) REGARDLESS…Disney Channel just “gets” us and, years later, seemingly understands heading back to college like nobody else…

Like when you’re pumped for a new semester filled with new possibilities and the opportunity to be SUUUUPPPERRRR PRODUCTIVE

and you finally see your friends after a summer spent apart.

You’re especially looking forward to the weekends to show off all of those dance skills you’ve aquired over the last three months.

You’re feeling good about making it past syllabus week but then papers, quizzes and due dates come at you like:

but you try your best

…keeping in mind that school is hard sometimes!

When you’re getting ready for a night out and you have absolutely NOTHING to wear

Until you finally find your best bar outfit and you are absolutely FEELING YOURSELF the whole night

but inevitably you have to help that one friend who JUST CAN’T HANG back to their room.

Your thought process when you are swamped with school work but remember that this will all pay off post-grad.

When you impress your favorite professor by dropping some serious knowledge and they compliment your intellect but all you hear is:

But that doesn’t make dealing with dining hall food everyday any easier.

Ultimately, you get back in the groove of the semester and remember that you are capable of amazing things!
