Why did you choose Manhattan College?
Initially, I chose Manattan because it was a close proximity to where I live in Yonkers and it has a good reputation for engineering, which is what I’ve always wanted to do. I also liked it because of the small class sizes and how small the chemical engineering department is. It really allows for a community feel.
What are you most excited about becoming an RA next year?
Mainly having a different role on campus. I’ve had leadershp positions before, but this is different because I am going to be responsible for the safety of a lot of younger residents. They can look up to me or even dislike me.
What advice do you have for prospective students making their college decisions?
I would say get involved in different kinds of activities that you would never expect yourself to be involved in because you never know what you like until you try it. Nowhere else in your life are you going to get this type of opportunity again. Some peope think college is all about getting good grades, but that’s not true. You need to get out of your comfort zone and try different things.
What would be your dream job?
I really want to work in a brewery. My first introduction to chemical engineering here was a lab where we made beer. And even though we’ve learned alot of things since then, I really enjoyed that particular process because it seemed like an art to me. Also, I love beer and it would be nice knowing that I am making a product that so many people all over the world enjoy.”
