Sometimes eating in the dining hall can get repetitive. Personally, I find going to a local restaurant is a great way to switch things up.

As a college student, it can be hard to find good food that’s not too expensive. These are some of the best places to eat near Manhattan College.

Bronx Alehouse

This spot is one I don’t hear about enough! Only a few minutes from campus, Bronx Alehouse is serving great food for cheap prices. The atmosphere is fun and the food is delectable. Your favorite bar snacks are all available here, such as wings, sandwiches, and mac and cheese, and their garlic parm fries are to die for!

Salvatores Of Soho

If you’re craving Italian food, right up the street from Kelly Commons is Salvatores. It’s an MC student staple, and everyone needs to try here at least once. They have great pizza and pasta, making it a perfect date spot. They’re also BYOB, which is great for a wine night with friends!

Tortoise & Hare

Tortoise & Hare is across from Van Cortlandt Park and has a great selection of burgers and sandwiches. If you’re more into American style food, this is definitely a great place to visit. As an avid mac and cheese lover, I would definitely recommend ordering it from here!

Aoyu Sushi

This is slightly further from campus, but if you’re craving sushi this is the perfect spot for authentic Asian cuisine. The interior is clean and modern, and the food is just as high quality. They also deliver if you don’t feel like walking, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

An Beal Bocht Cafe

We can’t forget about An Beal Bocht, a local favorite to many MC students. The Irish pub style food is one of the reasons it’s so loved, but it’s also a great location to meet other students. MC Players even did an open mic night last month, and they have live performances frequently.

Next time you want a night out with friends, or just an escape from dining hall food, make sure to check out one of these spots!
