Eating at a college dining hall seems to be very exciting in the beginning, but it does get old quickly. At Manhattan College’s dining hall, Locke’s Loft, the selection of good food varies every day and some days are definitely better than others. Living on campus student and adjusting to new food choices can be hard, especially if you were spoiled at home with good home cooked meals! If you’re anything like me, chicken nuggets and cereal isn’t exactly what I’d like to eat every day. Believe it or not, it’s easier than you think to get creative in Lockes. Switching things up everyday will help prevent you from getting sick of the food, and here are a few fun ways you can do that:

Breakfast

A waffle with peanut butter and jelly

Toast with melted butter and cinnamon

Yogurt Parfait

An omelet with cheese and vegetables, made in the home kitchen

Bananas and apples with peanut butter

Bananas and peanut butter on a tortilla wrap or bread

• Bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel

• Pancakes made with the premade waffle mix

Lunch

Wraps (Buffalo chicken wrap, chicken salad wrap, BLT wrap, etc.)

Panini’s

Grilled cheese

• Chicken fingers and french fry sandwhich

• A loaded salad with grilled chicken

Dinner

• Double cheese burger with bacon, lettuce, and tomato

• Loaded french fries with chili and cheese

Loaded french fries with hot sauce and ranch dressing

Grilled chicken and caesar salad wrap

Chicken and waffle sandwich with maple syrup

Stir fry

Dessert

Waffles with ice cream

Ice cream float

Ice cream cookie sandwich

Heated up brownie with ice cream

Banana split

However, if all else fails, there’s always the Tex Mex station!
