How to Fend off Seasonal Sickness

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

For most of us, back to school equates to the joy of seeing friends, a fresh new schedule and a return to the reliable bar hopping scene, but despite it being spring semester, few of us won’t escape the next few cold months without developing a cold of our own. Below are some remedies to fend off that bug and get yourself back into the swing of the semester, because who wants to miss class? (or more importantly a night out).

1) Drink lots of fluids, only the good kinds (sorry Svedka)

2) Get plenty of rest.

Even if that means missing a class or two, be sure to communicate with your teachers. They’ll understand your health is more important.

And don’t be shy about asking your roommates to turn down the noise.

Or be offended when they avoid you and spray you with Lysol in your sleep.

3) Hit up New Riv for a can of Progresso and maybe some Ginger Ale.

4) Give yourself a break from Lockes.

5) Stay close to a bathroom at all times.

6) Remember that DayQuil can work miracles.

7) Make the wise decision of staying in so you can give your immune system a much needed reprieve.

And remember there’s always netflix to keep you company.

See you at Fens when you feel better!
