Five NYX Products that you Need to Try ASAP

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

I love NYX because the products are inexpensive, great quality, and easy to use. Could you want anything more? Here are five amazing products by NYX that I can’t live without. You can get all of these products at Ulta. Enjoy ~

1. Jumbo Eye Pencil

This chunky pencil might seem like it is used for Halloween costumes and by children as play makeup, but they are actually great. My favorite color is “Milk”, which is a really creamy white. Apply this to your eyes to create an amazing cut-crease, or just to brighten your eyes. The white also does wonders for your eyes if it is put on the waterline. This makes your eyes appear larger.  It is only $4.49!

2. Eyebrow Shaper

Do you ever try to do your brows and then after about two hours they look awful? Sometimes our brows need something for them to stay in place. The eyebrow shaper is essentially a pencil of wax. It holds the hairs in place while creating the shape you want. Another way you can use this is as clear lip liner.  It’s $8.99.

3. Vivid Brights Eye Liner

Sometimes, we want to look a little more intense. This eyeliner comes in array of colors from bright green to a pretty lilac. Spice up a smokey eye with a pop of color, or just wear it plain to jazz up your daily look and make your eyes pop. It’s only $6.99, so why not get a few colors?

4. The Wonder Stick

Have you wanted to try out contouring but are a little nervous to drop $40 on a really legit contour kit? Fear no more, the Wonder Stick is here! It is essentially a double-sided concealer stick. One side is a highlight and one is a contour. At only $11.99, why not give it a try? A way to make this work better and get what you paid for is to invest in some type of beauty blender or sponge to blend out the contour, and make sure to get color matched.  Other than that, go for it!

5. Ombre Lip Duo

There are always these really complicated tutorials on Instagram where makeup artists are creating ombre effects on their lips usually (usually) very expensive lipsticks and a brush. This is a much easier/cost effective way of doing the same thing. There is one dark side, and one light side, which makes it possible to get that perfect ombre on the lips.  These come in many different colors (red and peach, deep brown and tan, etc.) They are $11.99, and that can’t be beat.
